The corresponding versatile possibilities, methods and materials were part of the course with lecturer Dr. Jochen Tunkel. In the theoretical part, among other things, the controlled tissue regeneration, the internal and external sinus elevation, augmentative relining and the use of allogeneic bone plates were discussed.

Afterwards the participants carefully watched the live operation, in which Dr. Tunkel performed a bone augmentation using the shell technique. The participants were then allowed to test different methods on the model and on the pork jaw using the stoma® instruments specially provided for this. Dr. Frederik Hofmann, also working in the Tunkel & Tunkel specialist dental practice in Bad Oeynhausen, helped Dr. Tunkel and the participants while the hands-on. The ambitious participants particularly emphasized the practical relevance and the exchange among colleagues.

Dr. Jochen Tunkel is a specialist in the fields of periodontology, implantology and oral surgery. He was a lecturer and guest lecturer at the University of Muenster for many years and, together with his wife, has been running his own practice in Bad Oeynhausen since 2007.
