On 10 and 11 September 2026, Liptingen became a meeting point for high-quality periodontal education. As part of a two-day intensive course at the Stoma Academy, Prof. Anton Sculean, one of the internationally leading specialists in the field of periodontology, provided in-depth expertise and modern treatment concepts.

The English-language course was designed for both general dentists and specialised practitioners. The focus was on an evidence-based, practice-oriented treatment concept for the management of periodontal and peri-implant diseases. Topics ranged from diagnosis and treatment planning to regenerative periodontal surgical procedures, as well as current approaches to peri-implantitis therapy and plastic-esthetic periodontal surgery.

On both course days, the programme followed a clear structure, combining a comprehensive theoretical session with a subsequent practical part. Participants first received a thorough overview of the respective topics and then applied them directly in practice. Under the guidance of Prof. Anton Sculean, the techniques were trained on porcine jaws, explained step by step and individually supervised. The emphasis was on clarity, clinical relevance and direct applicability in daily practice. Material support was provided by Geistlich Dental.

A special highlight was the exclusive tour of the production facility of Stoma / Storz am Mark. Participants gained detailed insights into the manufacturing of dental precision instruments. Some were surprised by the high level of manual work involved and the expertise and care required for each individual instrument.

In addition to the professional content, personal exchange also played an important role. During the two course days and at the joint dinner, participants took the opportunity to share experiences, discuss clinical questions and establish new professional connections. The open and collegial atmosphere was particularly appreciated.
