At the Stoma Academy hands-on workshop with Dr. Jochen Tunkel, the focus was on current concepts in periodontal bone and soft tissue regeneration. The one-day workshop was aimed at dentists, periodontists and oral surgeons who already perform periodontal treatments and wish to deepen their knowledge, particularly in bone regeneration and the coverage of periodontal recessions.

The workshop focused on regenerative treatment concepts and the targeted management of different types of tissue. In addition to the relevant clinical and surgical fundamentals, various techniques were demonstrated using clinical cases and surgical videos. A particular focus was placed on extensive hands-on exercises on pig jaws, allowing participants to directly apply and further develop the techniques presented.

Another highlight of the workshop was the live surgery. It gave participants the opportunity to experience the treatment concepts discussed in an actual clinical context and to follow the individual surgical steps in a practical setting.

Participants particularly appreciated the intensive and direct exchange with Dr. Jochen Tunkel. As he was available throughout the workshop, participants had the opportunity to ask specific questions at any time, discuss cases and address individual aspects of practical implementation. The high professional level of the workshop and the combination of theoretical instruction, practical exercises and the live surgery were also particularly well received in the feedback.
