The course started with theoretical instructions, e.g. the legal basics, fire protection regulations, fire alarm systems and identification marking. Moreover the specialist explained the preventive and the defensive fire protection, as well as the behavior in case of fire, alerting / instruction / support of the auxiliary forces, escape routes and assembly point, initiation of evacuation and rescue of persons.

For the practical part, the participants then went outside to the fire-fighting exercise. By means of a fire simulator, the prospective fire protection assistants could prepare for the case of emergency and practice fire-fighting with fire extinguishers.
