Girls have various interests and skills. This potential is still considered too little in the career and study choice. By means of the „Girls‘Day“ which takes place once a year throughout whole Germany girls get access to areas like technology, natural sciences, crafts and IT, which they perhaps do not have in focus yet.
After a short tour and an instruction in terms of safety in the production department by our head of technical trainees Nexhdet Binaku, Anna-Lena learned interesting facts about the function of a CNC milling machine.
She marked several instruments after a short instruction to the etching technique resp. laser marking. She was allowed to do the packaging and labelling of these instruments as well.
As a souvenir of the Girls’Day she could take home two pendants made of sheet metal, cut, trimmed, sanded, drilled and laser marked by herself. All in all she got to know in a playful way the workflow of an instrument, from its manufacturing to its preparation for shipment.
