Life-saving skills in action – Stoma / Storz am Mark trains first responders

When every second counts, actions must be precise. That’s why Stoma / Storz am Mark once again trained for situations in which quick reactions can save lives. Employees from different departments, together with participants from two partner companies, gathered in the company’s training rooms for the full-day first aid course run by the Johanniter. To begin, the instructor demonstrated a traffic-accident scenario and explained which steps need to be taken — and in which order — to provide safe assistance to an injured person.

As the training progressed, different emergency situations were discussed and practiced directly. The group trained cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the recovery position and the safe removal of an injured person from a vehicle using a dedicated rescue technique. The correct use of the automated external defibrillator (AED) was also explained step by step. In addition, the contents of a first aid kit were reviewed, followed by practical exercises on various bandaging techniques. Small-group role-plays helped participants reinforce what they had learned.

At the end of the varied and hands-on training day, all participants received their certificate.
