Stoma Dentalsysteme GmbH & Co KG could welcome this speaker for the first time in its own seminar rooms and thus further intensify their collaboration. The internationally renowned specialist is Professor of Periodontology at the University of Bologna, has already been honored with several scientific awards and has published a book on the subject mucogingival esthetic surgery. The hands-on course held in English was fully booked with participants from Germany and other countries already weeks before.

By means of several clinical cases in the form of photos or videos Professor Zucchelli explained various surgical treatment options of single and multiple recession defects. During the practical part the participants could train the presented techniques such as the coronally advanced flap, connective tissue graft harvesting and bilaminar techniques. Stoma provided the participants with necessary instruments, sutures and animal models, Stoma’s industrial partner Straumann supported the course with biomaterials.

At the request of the participants, Martin Mazzeo – Member of the Executive Board – led the group through the company's own production department. Many participants were astonished that the stoma®-instruments, which are prefabricated by CNC-controlled machine, still require a lot of expert craftsmanship. During the breaks and in the evening the attendees had the opportunity to exchange experiences.
