Treatment of soft tissue defects with the Concept of Bern acc. to Professor Anton Sculean

Many participants were excited that a Stoma workshop with Professor Anton Sculean took place in the eastern part of Germany, namely in Erfurt.

In the theoretical part of the course, the speaker gave an overview of the diagnosis and treatment of peri-implant infections as well as various surgical techniques used in plastic-aesthetic periodontal and peri-implant surgery. In the foreground stood the vivid mediation of therapy concepts, which enable the achievement of predictable results.

Appropriate stoma instruments and sutures from the Concept of Bern as well as biomaterials from Geistlich were used in the large practical part of the workshop. The participants trained on pork pines, for example, a tension-free sling suture to bring the gingiva to the desired level. Professor Sculean always kept an eye on the participants, checked the technique used, the results, and responded to emerging questions. Even the break times were actively used by the participants to continue practicing, also here, the speaker was happy to help.

The Concept of Bern, consisting of different instrument sets for current non-surgical, surgical and plastic-aesthetic techniques, such as the tunneling technique, recession coverage and soft tissue management, was developed by Stoma in close cooperation with Professor Sculean, director of the Department of Periodontology at the University of Bern.
